What is the best rental car company in France?
A cross border fee is applied to your rental in order to cover the additional insurance necessary to drive the vehicle outside of the country which you rented it from. Paying the fee guarantees your insurance will remain valid and the rental company can supply you with the correct documentation. It is a good idea to tell the
car
hire company of your plans a couple days ahead of your rental so they can organise any required paperwork.
Yes you can, just let the rental car company knows about it. You pay an extra fee to across to other country, i paid 30€. If you return the car in other country you also have to pay extra for this and isn't cheap, if you come back to barcelona, it's a regular price to rent it. I rent wit autoclick rental car.
It doesn’t matter what car rental agency you choose to rent your car from, you can be sure to pay additional monies for it, which can exceed $100 depending on the company and its location. Be sure to keep this in mind since it can significantly increase your rental car budget, and if you plan on renting the vehicle for some time, the fee can really cost you a pretty penny. Some car rental agencies may restrict the kind of vehicle class you can rent, which means you may not be driving a sports car anytime soon! thus, as a 21 year old or younger driver, you might find success renting a car from a local and/or small er car rental company than the major car rental organizations.
What is driving like in France?
France
every region of france presents its own unique culture and ambiance.
The capital city of france is paris , one of the most visited tourist destinations in the world. Romantic, elegant and cultured are some words used to describe the city, and most travellers have either have been to the city, or have it on their to-do list. With sights like the eiffel tower, the louvre museum and the arc de triomphe all found in the city, a visit here will be filled with lots of places to visit and things to do. Other cities which are a must see whilst driving in france include glamorous nice on the french riviera, cultural lyon and the historical towns of toulouse and bordeaux in the southwest.
France has more than 9,000km of motorways ("autoroutes"). Most of them are toll roads where the fee is determined by length of the ride. These motorways are marked in blue a. The rest of state and local roads are marked with n and d respectively. In contrast to other european countries, in france there are no traffic signs warning from speed traps, but they are frequent, especially on motorways. Fastening seat belts is mandatory in both front and rear seats. Speed limits are determined by the road, and are getting tougher in rainy conditions or bad visibility. Dipped headlights must be used in poor daytime visibility and is obligatory in cases of fog, snow, bad visibility or driving at tunnels.

Getting the Best Rental Car Deal in France
While many european travel dreams come with a clickety-clack rhythm of the rails soundtrack — and most first trips are best by train — you could at least consider the convenience of driving. Behind the wheel you're totally free, going where you want, when you want. Driving is ideal for countryside-focused trips. The super mobility of a car saves you time in locating budget accommodations in small towns and away from the train lines. This savings helps to rationalize the “splurge” of a car rental. You can also play it riskier in peak season, arriving in a town late with no reservation.
Question i am on the fence about this idea. I don't speak french so i'm obviously intimidated by the idea of driving in a foreign country where i don't speak the language. But it seems like the easiest way to get to puy du fou and back (there's no train, the park runs a shuttle from angers but the information on that shuttle is really sketchy, and an uber from angers is like 110e one way). But it would be completely useless while in paris so either i have to pay for expensive parking for a useless car while i'm there or deal with making a car rental outside of the airport.
